Giffords should listen to voters, not Nancy Pelosi

Tucson, AZ. As Representative Gabrielle Giffords vacillates over her vote for a government take-over of the world’s best health care system, she should apply one simple rule: listen to the voters!

The voters of the Arizona Eighth Congressional District do not want a vast new bureaucracy that would disrupt the quality health care available to them. They want common sense solutions like purchasing coverage across state lines, meaningful tort reform to lower the excessive costs of punitive damages, block grants for high risk pools, and increased competition through regulatory reforms. Quite simply, they want the reforms that Jesse Kelly is proposing to reduce the spiraling cost of health care coverage.

Giffords needs to recall the public response at her Health Care Town Hall in September of 2009. She can refresh her memory by watching this 4 minute video of the event. When Jesse Kelly filled in at a town hall cancelled by Giffords, it was clear to him what the voters wanted. Giffords should immediately announce her opposition to the Senate version of government health care and push for real reforms that increase private sector competition and lower costs to consumers. She should also join with her fellow Democrat Bart Stupak and stand firm against government funding of abortion. The American people are clear in their opposition to taxpayer dollars being spent in that way.

Jesse Kelly is a Republican candidate for Arizona’s Eighth Congressional District in the southeastern region of the state. For more information on the Jesse Kelly campaign please visit VoteJesseKelly.com or send an e-mail to media@jessekellyforcongress.com.
